The Gallaghers will play Slane Castle in June

Oasis have announced details of their first 2009 'super-gig'.

The band will play Slane Castle in Ireland on June 20, a venue they last played in 1995 when they supported REM.

Tickets, which are limited to eight per person, go on sale on October 24 at 8am (BST). The venue can cater for up to 100,000 fans at gigs held there.

Oasis previously announced they are to play a 'super-gig' in Manchester, but refused to reveal which venue the show would take place at.

To check the availability of Oasis tickets after then and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/GIGS, or call 0871 230 1094.

Make sure you are on NME.COM tomorrow (October 16) from 3pm as we will have more details of a second Oasis announcement live from London.

So.... Where's the other one (or ones maybe?) gonna be? Glastonbury would be an amazing inclusion....

A gig featuring Oasis will be "super" in the same way that a Panini filled with excrement will be "delicious".

Just wanted to get in before all the a*ses like markiechop start getting there yawn worthy point in.Firstly Oasis are still relevant...100,000 capacity gig, sold out UK tour, number 1 album, sold out US tour! Thanks. As for these dadrock comments that keep cropping up..have you actually been to a gig all you observers because i'm pretty sure 90% of the audience is 18-24 the remaining 20% 25-35. Admittedly not impossible to be a dad at these ages but i don't think that's what your aiming for is it you c*cks! Now Dig out your soul and stop the jealousy

I thought we were working on FACTS, not opinions, maybe check on the difference - white widow. I think album and single sales will take care of most FACTS about Oasis, still selling millions. THANKS

A lot of Oasis bashers on here isn't there. As for White Widow, you are obsessed with rubbishing them. You say that it is a fact that they haven't written a decent tune in years. Yet you seem to have listened to all their albums? Why do you bother? Get a life.

Hmm, White Widow, you probably haven't heard Dig Out Your Soul then, have you?'They havent written a decent tune in years,' well, I would point you in the direction of Bag It Up, Turning and Soldier On.I hope the big announcement later includes Newcastle date(s).

This is all pretty funny! Who really gives a shit what these people say?? if your willing to purely only read about Oasis and proclaim not to like them, why the obsession?Secondary why must everything be relevant? are you all the type of people who profess to know everything about new bands? What next, gonna start on Radiohead? They past it too?Go and masterbate to Keane, there relevant, still dosent remove the fact there a bunch of winey fuckwits now does it...........

haha White Widow again!!, thats one post on every Oasis article in the past month, he fuckin' loves em and who can blame him :D

Figooooooooooooooo

Oct 17, 2008

Good point Morbidelli, good point. For i am not going to listen to oasis or any other band that are not considered "relevant" as i am deeply concerned what other people might think. Plus what the fuck is the holy grail of relevancy? What a load of fois gras. And i think i will listen to keane whilst masterbating because i know they will have a splendid time this evening having a slumber party round at snow patrols house and then admitting themselves to rehab the following morning after having too many marshmellows in their hot chocolates.
