Singer has been working on the follow-up to 'Back To Black'

Amy Winehouse has reached the demo stage in the production of her forthcoming new album, the follow-up to the hugely successful 'Back To Black'.

Lucian Grange, Chairman and Chief Executive of Winehouse's label, Universal Music Group, told BBC 6Music that the troubled singer had played him demos of the new material and previewed some of the songs live.

"I've heard some demos," he said. "I've heard some simple acoustic songs that she's played me in my office on acoustic guitar, and what I've heard has been sensational."

The forthcoming album will be the singer's first since October 2006.

"I believe in her as a person and I certainly believe in her as an artist and that's what I hope for," Grange added.

She REALLY needs a great second album....she's an amazing talent, but all this drug shit needs to stop...

I have to disagree with you there...yes Amy is wasting her life and pissing / injecting her talent away but she is a great singer and has a big heart. I have a feeling that her new stuff will be utter drivel though...maybe she needs to clean up first.

She's a one trick pony, the next album without Ronson will sum her up....dire.

I shouldn't imagine she can even sing anymore with such limited lung capacity but I still hold out hope that perhaps she will surprise us all.
